Part two of the commissioned works series, as more commissions come in and other individuals witness my work, whether that be at the booth in real-time or via Instagram, the work resonates with others, and that is truly all one can ask for. Still informal, catching the creative energy necessary to create while reserving the numbers for the 8 piles of bricks awaiting transformation (a request I will honor when I begin making large bags again, a task I think will go hand-in-hand with my expansion into Northern Michigan and other locations via Consignment)
This was an undertaking I stepped behind the wheel of with gusto, because as long as I have the materials, I will “make something shake”, as the saying goes. My only constraints are proving to be schedule-based, because there are only 24 hours in a day, but I am eager to create and to fulfill a few dreams here and there, so I make time.
This batch mirrored the medium bag method, in which I began to make more shells/exteriors of the small bags and would match them to the interior brick pattern when the time came. Again, this is placing the action in the hands of the consumer, and in that way, all I can do is utilize my architectural eye and my splendid hands to conjure a vision of a bag they will love.
