Care for yourself as you care for your clothes and both parties can walk away transformed for the better.

Laundering has the potential to take a while, so why not devote some of that time to yourself?

The pod was an extension of the Dye Complex idea in microcosm, a station that follows the same principles as a detergent pod might (One big chamber for washing, another few for whitening, softening, and fragrance). With that in mind, the challenge became how best to hold all of these processes, and the intervention of the table came into view. The legs of the table became the trays that held the bowls that housed the material necessary to wash clothes and people. The project became a nesting doll capable of becoming a full scene, a picnic to be partaken in where clothes are washed or dyed and the person takes time in between to moisturize or braid or any other sundry task to make them feel better. Laser-cut acrylic for the table was the only element not found at the dollar store, but if that were replaced the whole project could be easily replicable for multiple demographics. Collaborative acts like hair braiding and cloth mending could also occur if the pods multiplied, so the potential is present, it just needs tweaks here and there.

The Vessel in Action.

These videos show the setup and usage of the pod, in other circumstances it would be conducive to have a water source present like a hose or a river, but otherwise, the process is fairly straightforward as long as there is a space to place the clothesline.
